How do I cure my weed, and why?
Welcome to a new blog, today we’re talking about “Curing.” Curing is an essential part in the last phase of growing process. After drying the buds, it’s time for the ripening process. This ripening is called curing and has a very positive effect on the buds going into the grinder. The curing process has been a thing for centuries. With knowledge of this process they make sure that the scent of herbs stays fresh longer and the taste wasn’t weakened.
I have weed, how do I cure it?
First we have to know if the weed isn’t too dry, you figure this out by crumbling it. If it turns into a powder, then curing won’t change much to this weed because it’s too dry.
You also don’t want your weed to be too wet, because that can make the weed go mouldy. To find out if your weed is too wet, you snap one of the branches off. If it easily bends, there’s still too much moisture in your plants and it still has to dry a little, but if it snaps it’s dry enough and you can prepare it to cure it.
If you don’t have any large branches, you can feel the weed itself, if it still feels wet, then dry it before you start the curing process.
If you’ve found the right weed, the choice “What do I wanna cure with?” arises. The answer depends on how much time you want to spend on it.
I will go over 2 techniques in this blog:
Technique 1 the weckpot
Technique 2 C-Vault
For the first technique we need a weckpot. Make sure the weckpot is large enough to put in your weed without putting too much pressure on it.
Also go for a weckpot with a large neck, that ensures that the buds go in and out easily.
Fill the weckpot with the weed and close it.
There’s people that put a humidity meter and this is heavily recommended!
If the humidity is too high, you can leave the pot open for a little bit; 62% humidity is ideal.
Try opening the pot for 5-10 minutes twice aday, and make sure that the lower buds get some air too by shaking it a little.
After a few weeks all other moisture is out and you can save the pot sealed.
Na een paar weken is al het overige vocht eruit en kunt u de pot dicht bewaren.
For technique 2 we use the C-Vault
The C-Vault is a professional curing jar, of which exist larger and smaller variants. If you’re ready to invest in a C-Vault, then the control work is taken away for you. Every C-Vault contains a holder and a Bovega patch. This patch always ensures that there’s a humidity of 62% in the pot. This ensures you don’t have to worry about moist weed that gets mouldy, or too dry weed.
If the curing process went well you will get a nice result; the weed will smell better, taste better and will contain less unwanted products.
I recommend everyone to cure their weed, to create a new standard for weed together
The C-Vault is available on our site for lucrative prices, so read another blog or browse around in our webshop
